The Brief

HiveMind is a craft brewery in London, Ontario with a story worth telling — one rooted in local farming relationships and a genuine commitment to environmental responsibility. The project called for a complete brand identity system: logo design, packaging, print advertising, and a social media campaign. The brand needed to speak to a growing consumer base that actively seeks out local, sustainable products and wants their purchasing decisions to mean something.



Solution

Consumer purchasing trends pointed clearly toward sustainability and local loyalty which HiveMind's existing values were already aligned. The solution was to build a brand identity that made those values visible and compelling at every touchpoint.

The logo anchors the system around a single, smart concept: a bold letter H that carries a dual reading of both Hive and Mind, set inside a hexagon. This is a direct nod to the beehive and the energy within it. The decorative, weighty typeface gives the mark presence and authority while staying rooted in the brand's natural, artisan character. The beer packaging was designed to celebrate each individual brew by incorporating unique honey-flower illustrations surrounded by bumblebees. The label's colour palette choice was also shifted to reflect the specific flower variety.creating a cohesive family of products that still feel distinct on shelf. A cursive, handwritten typeface on each brew name reinforces the craft and care behind every bottle.

Their social media campaign strategy was built around two pillars: "Sustainability Made Delicious" and "Bee The Change". This social media initiative was designed to turn consumers into advocates for both their purchases and local impact. Both campaigns leaned into the brand's core visual language: bees, flowers, brews, and hexagons used consistently across print and digital to build long-term brand recognition and emotional connection with the audience.



The Outcome

The completed brand identity package positively impacted HiveMind's market presence, giving the brewery a cohesive and recognizable visual system that authentically reflects its values. The brands "Bee The Change" social media campaign created meaningful engagement by connecting consumers to a cause larger than the product itself. Consistent use of brand elements across packaging, print, and social media strengthened brand equity and directly contributed to increased sales through long-term recognition; proving that purpose-driven design isn't just good ethics, it's good business.
